There is a long tradition of fishing here, so you can look forward to all kinds of delicious seafood. Pula is also the largest city in Istria, bustling with activity and entertainment. Historically belonging to the Republic of Venice, the city is a frequent destination of many Czech tourists, packed with romantic alleys, souvenir shops, as well as clubs and discos.

Especially during the summer months, there are numerous cultural events worth visiting – a film festival, music festivals, biker rallies and much more. One thing you should be sure not to miss is the Roman amphitheater, a smaller predecessor of the Roman Colosseum and the second-most important amphitheater in the world. The capacity is a respectable 22,000 visitors and it is the site of many concerts and theater performances.

If you would prefer some quieter sightseeing, check out the archeology, wine or maritime museums take a walk along the bay and sea or head to nearby Brijuni National Park. And if you prefer cycling to walking, you’re also in luck – there are dozens of cycling trails in the area.
